It’s About Time

As I said in the title, yes, it is about time. What for, you ask? I’ll tell you why.

Anonymous are on the job. I don’t care what the media has said about them, or even their previous exploits; Anonymous are a large-spread organisation without a strict membership policy, and are composed of several factions. There is a faction in particular lending their aid to the Great Internet War; Project Freeweb.

I am very glad to have their assistance in our time of need, no matter what people may say. This issue, this injustice is larger than any of your personal, petty prejudices. This Net Filter affects our entire nation. All of us. All twenty-two million of us. Anyone who won’t work with Anonymous had better rethink their priorities and stop being so damn selfish. If you have to, don’t think of it as an Anonymous project. Think of it as your own project against the first step towards Australian Fascism.

Because that’s who Anonymous are. They’re all of us. They’re me. They’re that guy you talk to sometimes. They have the potential to be any of us, and all of us. We, as people, need to stand up and realise this one truth. None of us are as strong as all of us.

Here’s the details for the Project Freeweb Protests. Again, there are Facebook Event links but I will also post details. I will be present at the Perth Protest, and the talented Cry Freedom will be present at the Melbourne Protest.

Melbourne Protest: WHEN: 20th February 10am. WHERE: Outside Flinders Street station, clocks side, near Federation square.

Adelaide Protest: WHEN: 20th February 1pm. WHERE: Elder Park

Sydney Protest: WHEN: 20th February 12pm. WHERE: Martin Place. Meet up at the exit to the train station/where channel 7’s Sunrise is filmed.

Perth Protest: WHEN: 20th February 12pm. WHERE: Central Park (Corner Hay and William Street)

Brisbane Protest:WHEN: 20th February 10am. WHERE: Queen Street Mall, in front of the casino. The march will end in front of Government House.

Remember… None of us are as strong as all of us.

I wasn’t aware of the Sydney Protest on the 20th February :S
The Block The Filter event at Parramatta Park on the 6th March was also very poorly attended.

The next event is Gag the Filter at Hyde Park @ 5.30pm on Thursday 1st April.

Ah yes, I’ve heard of this, but as I am a Perthian I won’t be in attendance.
I’d like to see the protest groups actually talking to one another though…
